Frank Böhnke
Frank Böhnke joined Wellington Partners as a General Partner in January 1998. Since then, he has been responsible for several successful exits, including ACG (Neuer Markt IPO), alando.de (sold to eBay Inc.), webmiles (sold to Bertelsmann) and Cobion (sold to Internet Security Systems Inc.). Frank Böhnke's investment activities focus on the fields of Security, Software and Services. He currently holds seats on the supervisory boards of Astaro, SAF, Safe ID Solutions and Swyx.
Prior to joining Wellington Partners, Frank Böhnke spent eight years in technology investment banking at J.P. Morgan in New York, London and Frankfurt. He advised customers such as IBM, Bertelsmann and Siemens on numerous M&A mandates and accompanied the NASDAQ listings of technology companies like EIDOS, Iomega and Dassault Systems.
Frank Böhnke holds degrees in Business Administration from the University of Essen and the University of Toronto (1989).
Alexander Brühl
Alexander Brühl is a Senior Partner in the technology sector and joined Atlas Venture in 1998. His expertise is in semiconductors and advanced materials as well as enterprise and communications infrastructure.
Prior to joining Atlas Venture, Alexander Brühl served as Director, Corporate Marketing for R&O Software-Technik GmbH, a leading German enterprise repository vendor with a strong presence in the US. After R&O was acquired by Viasoft Inc. in 1996, Alexander Brühl served as Director, Corporate Strategies.
Previously, Alexander Brühl was Founder and Managing Director of Solution Analysis Group, a German consulting and implementation firm for information management solutions. In 1999, Alexander Brühl spun off Atlas Venture portfolio company Systemonic AG from Dresden University and was Chairman of the Board until the companie's acquisition by Royal Philips Electronics in 2003.
Richard Seibt (Chairman)
Richard Seibt can look back on a long career in the IT sector. As Managing Director of IBM Deutschland GmbH, he bore sales and marketing responsibility for IBM software products in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. In 1993, he masterminded the huge success of OS/2 in the German-speaking market. Seibt moved 1997 to the US as IBM General Manager of the OS/2 division. Believing that he could achieve more in a smaller company than in a major corporation, Seibt left IBM in 1998 and joined the Board of United Internet AG. In January 2003, Richard Seibt joined the Nürnberg-based SuSE Linux AG as CEO. He managed the merger with Novell January 2004, and Seibt was named President of Novell-EMEA. Richard Seibt left Novell in May 2005, and since then he has devoted himself to selected Linux and open source projects.
Bernhard Woebker
Mr. Woebker has been a consultant to various investment banking and venture capital firms in Europe and the United States since late 1999. From January 1999 until July 2001, he served as Executive Vice President of Versant and from March 1997 until January 1999 he served as Versant¹s Vice President and General Manager in Europe. From 1994 to March 1997, he was the President of Versant Object Technology GmbH, an independently-owned distributorship for Versant products in Europe, which was acquired by Versant in March 1997.
From 1976 until 1994, Mr. Woebker held a variety of positions in Germany and the United States with Nixdorf Computer AG, Nixdorf Computer Engineering Corp. and Siemens Nixdorf Informationssysteme AG, all information technology companies, including the position of President and CEO of Nixdorf Computer Engineering Corp. in Boston, Massachusetts from 1986 to 1989. Mr. Woebker has also served as Senior Vice President, Pyramid Technology Corp. in Europe and as Vice President, NeXT Computer, Inc. in Europe. Mr. Woebker received a Masters of Science degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Hannover.
