E-Mail Server
At the heart of the Collax Business Server is a fully integrated E-Mail server. The E-Mail server can either function as a stand alone E-Mail server with its own MX record or retrieve E-Mail from a remote server using various protocols such as POP3 or multidrop. The retrieval intervals can be customized. During the mail communication process the server, by default, checks the E-Mail traffic for spam, thereby eliminating the need for an E-Mail filter on the end user's PC. Optionally, two different professional virus protection solutions are available for the Collax Business Server.

The built-in file server provides users with personal storage space on the server. Also department, team or company-wide shares can be set up within seconds. The storage space can be accessed as either network share or via Web based access. The data contained in these shared can then be included in the standard backup process of the Collax Business Server or be synchronized with other network storage units.

Web Proxy

Fax Server
Apart from the exchange of messages via E-Mail fax messages still play an important role in commercial communication. The integrated fax server enables your employees to handle their fax communication with their familiar E-Mail client. Incoming fax messages are delivered by E-Mail in the form of PDF attachments. The fax messages can be accessed by individuals, groups or entire departments, e.g. for the management of incoming orders in the sales department. It is also possible to set up separate fax numbers for every employee. The built-in ISDN card enables the transmission of fax messages as well as SMS. For example, messages can easily and quickly be sent by E-Mail to the mobile phones of field staff members or truck drivers.
