Collax Net Backup enables you to implement even the most complex backup tasks smoothly and effortlessly. It also lets you optimise how you use both your expensive backup media and cheaper media to strike a balance in economy. To achieve this, a number of individually configurable backup processes are possible.

Apart from full and incremental backups it is possible to perform monthly, weekly and daily routines along with a tape rotation system. The program also supports differential combinations.

With the help of wizards, it is also possible to roll out efficient backup strategies like the "grandfather-father-son" concept or the "towers of Hanoi". With Collax Net Backup, restoring selected data or the entire system is very easy: the backed-up data of all systems can be restored to temporary locations, individual directories or directly to the original locations by means of an easy-to-use user interface. An entire Collax system can be restored in three simple steps. A real alternatibe to Symantec/Veritas.

The Collax Net Backup module is one of the few modules that can be installed directly onto a Collax V-Cube. This means it has direct and uninterrupted access to storage hardware devices (tape drives, disk drives etc.). This results very higher throughput that is important to a backup solution. It also means it has access to the inside of any virtual machine running the Collax Net Backup agent. Collax Net Backup can now perform backups of those virtual machines just as if they were physical machines as opposed to making Virtual Machine Snapshots: A perfect combination of flexibility and performance.
