The Collax Web Application module is a business Web server. It provides support for:

• The Collax Web Application module is a full-fledged Apache-based Web server.
• All needed components are available as a platform for LAMP and Java applications.
• Available databases: MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Firebird.
• The Web applications can be written in PHP, Python, Perl, or Java or run as CGI.
• The Collax Web Application module features a variety of optional extensions. For example, it is possible to use server-side includes, full-text search, or automatic spell-checking.
• Several virtual Web servers can be set up and reached under different DNS names (name-based) o IP addresses (IP-based).
• For the exchange of data with users, the Collax Web Application module offers the WebDAV and HTTP-PUT protocols.
• Access to the Web pages can be limited to particular networks and hosts. This is important when setting up an intranet page to which only local users are to be granted access with different permissions.
• Web pages cannot only be made available via HTTP, but also in encrypted form via the secure HTTPS protocol.
• The Web server is compatible with all common browsers.
• Hits and page impressions can be recorded in a graphical analysis.
• The contents of the Web server can be included in the regular backup.
• The Web server can be equipped via FTP, SMB*, http-PUT, DAV, or NFS*.
• Authentication and authorization: Web pages can be protected with login and password. The ACL support allows contents to be limited to defined groups of users.
