The Collax Business Server is the Jack-of-all-Trades for IT infrastructure and perfectly designed for small businesses and branch offices.

The Collax Business Server is a smart collection of IT functions is packaged together to provide a complete IT infrastructure in one box. With this server your business can get up and running in one installation. At a high level it contains:

All this makes the Collax Business Server the prefect all-round solution for businesses on a budget.

With security in mind the Collax Business Server contains a built-in IPSec VPN enabling both branch offices and remote workers can gain secure access to your over the Internet. It also features a very easy to use Stateful Inspection Firewall, anti-virus and the multi-level Spam protection system. All this gives you complete confidence against hacking, viruses and unwanted Spam.

The Collax Business Server provides all necessary protocols for both Internet and LAN connectivity. This means that the Collax Business Server can work simultaneously as an E-Mail server, a Firewall and Router. This results in keeps your costs down.

Along side basic functionality like DNS server, DHCP server etc. the Collax Business Server also provides full monitoring of the server, the system environment and the backup system.

With the central remote administration interface (browser driven from any machine with no client software requirements) it is simple to setup and administer your user access rights. In addition, with your authorization, the server keeps up-to-date with automatic updates from Collax keeping your server safe and always up-to-date.

E-Mail Server

At the heart of the Collax Business Server is a fully integrated E-Mail server. The E-Mail server can either function as a stand alone E-Mail server with its own MX record or retrieve E-Mail from a remote server using various protocols such as POP3 or multidrop. The retrieval intervals can be customized. During the mail communication process the server, by default, checks the E-Mail traffic for spam, thereby eliminating the need for an E-Mail filter on the end user's PC. Optionally, two different professional virus protection solutions are available for the Collax Business Server.

The built-in file server provides users with personal storage space on the server. Also department, team or company-wide shares can be set up within seconds. The data contained in these shared can then be included in the standard backup process of the Collax Business Server or be synchronized with other network storage units.

Web Proxy

The Web proxy controls the Internet access and access behavior of your users – serving as your security filter with integrated cache for your data traffic to the Internet. It provides protection from risks while surfing and prevents access to illegal or undesirable contents, such as violence, drugs, pornography etc. As an application proxy for the browser services it raises the security level and accelerates the loading of Web pages by means of integrated caching technology.

Fax Server

Apart from the exchange of messages via E-Mail fax messages still play an important role in commercial communication. The integrated fax server enables your employees to handle their fax communication with their familiar E-Mail client. Incoming fax messages are delivered by E-Mail in the form of PDF attachments. The fax messages can be accessed by individuals, groups or entire departments, e.g. for the management of incoming orders in the sales department. It is also possible to set up separate fax numbers for every employee. The built-in ISDN card enables the transmission of fax messages as well as SMS. For example, messages can easily and quickly be sent by E-Mail to the mobile phones of field staff members or truck drivers.

User Management

The Collax Business Server provides administrators with various user management tools. With the Collax Business Server users can be managed either directly or simply be integrated in an existing Windows domain in order to avoid redundant user management. As an autonomous server, the Collax Business Server can operate as a primary domain controller for user authentication.

Backup

Apart from protecting the system from attacks, it is also important to regularly back up your data.
